Data collection

This site collects the minimum personal data required for the proper operation of the services offered:

• Contact details submitted through the form (name, email, message)
• Questionnaire answers, saved in your browser so you do not lose them along the way
• Audience measurement through our own tool, self-hosted, cookie-free and running at all times
• Audience measurement through Google Analytics, only if you consent to it
• IP address in the server security logs

Use of data

The data collected is used only to:

• Respond to your contact requests
• Improve our services
• Ensure the security of the site

Data retention

Your personal data is kept only for as long as strictly necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, in accordance with the GDPR.

• Contact requests and questionnaires: as long as it takes to handle the request and follow up on it
• Traffic statistics: the key that allows two visits to be linked is renewed every day and destroyed after two days, after which the measurements can no longer be attached to anyone
• Security logs containing an IP address: 14 days, then hourly totals only, with no IP address

These rights apply to the data that identifies you, that is, your contact requests. Since traffic statistics are no longer attached to anyone after two days, there is no way to find your data in them, and therefore no way to export or delete it.

Cookies and audience measurement

The site itself sets no cookie. It uses neither advertising nor profiling cookies, and no data is ever sold. Two tools measure traffic, and they are not equivalent.

Our own measurement tool, hosted on our servers, works without cookies and without any persistent identifier: no browser fingerprint, no tracking from one site to another, and no data passed to a third party. What is recorded: the page viewed, the page you came from, the browser, the operating system, the device type, the screen width, the language, the time spent and the reading depth. Your IP address is never stored: it is used only, in memory, to compute a hashed visit identifier with a key that is renewed daily and destroyed after two days. Beyond that point nobody can link two visits together, ourselves included. This measurement runs whatever your choice in the banner: it sets no cookie, never leaves our servers and serves only to count visits.

Google Analytics (Google LLC) remains active while we compare the two solutions. It does set cookies and does send data to a third party, so it is loaded only after your explicit agreement, given through the banner shown on your first visit. A refusal is honoured and does not restrict access to the site in any way. The choice you make in the banner concerns Google Analytics only. Our own tool is meant to replace it.

To change your mind about Google Analytics, clear your browser's site data for maxadev.fr and the banner will appear again on your next visit. You can also opt out of our own measurement by storing the value 1 under the key maxa_ignore in your browser's local storage.

We implement all appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.
